Why hybrid is hard

Two audiences, one event, two completely different experiences.

A hybrid event fails when the virtual audience feels like an afterthought. The in-room audience sees the speaker, hears the applause, has coffee in the foyer. The virtual audience watches a camera that never cuts, misses the Q&A, and drops off by minute 30.

The fix is not more cameras. The fix is a producer running the virtual experience in parallel to the in-room one. Dedicated virtual host during breaks. Live graphics calling out remote-joined speakers. Cameras cut for the virtual audience, not just the room. Chat moderated and surfaced to the stage. If the virtual viewer leaves, it should feel like their choice, not because the event forgot about them.

Proof at scale

Six stages, one control room, 72 hours of continuous broadcast.

Web Summit Qatar: six stages running concurrently over three days. Each stage had its own camera crew, vision mixer, and audio team on the floor. All six fed into a single CBA control room where a head producer directed the virtual broadcast across all sessions simultaneously.

Qatar Economic Forum: bilingual production in Arabic and English, 48 hours of continuous coverage, 85+ countries watching, with the same session available on three audio tracks. In-room audience got the Arabic speaker live. Virtual audience could choose Arabic, English, or an interpreter feed in their browser.

Hybrid scale is not about adding tech. It is about directing parallel experiences from one room.

FAQ

Questions we get from buyers before they book

Can remote speakers join without installing software?

Yes. Remote speakers connect through a browser-based portal with no app install required. We have handled four-continent speaker lineups in a single session. Latency to our control room stays under 400ms anywhere with stable internet.

How many concurrent stages can you run?

Six is proven at scale (Web Summit Qatar). Larger is possible with sufficient lead time. Each stage needs its own floor crew, but the virtual broadcast direction runs from a single CBA control room.

Can we run bilingual or multilingual audio tracks?

Yes. Arabic and English simultaneous tracks are standard for GCC events. Additional languages are available via live interpreter feeds. Virtual viewers pick the track they want in their player. See the Simultaneous Interpretation service for multi-language detail.

What does the virtual audience experience look like?

A branded viewer portal on your domain. Session rooms, sponsor zones, networking lounges, chat moderated in real time. Optional SSO gating if the event is internal-only. Post-event, every session is available on demand with full recording quality within 48 hours.

How do we know the virtual audience actually engaged?

Per-attendee engagement reporting. Who watched, for how long, which sessions, which questions they asked, which polls they voted in, which chat they contributed to. Ranked from Hot to Cold so your sales team calls the right people first.

Your event deserves production that performs.
